What a flooring quote should contain
- Contractor details (company name, registration number, address, VAT)
- Customer details and project address
- Description of works: floor type, m², layout (straight, diagonal, herringbone)
- Itemised material list (flooring, adhesive, underlay, beading, profiles)
- Labour line (per m² or per job)
- Subtotal, VAT and total
- Validity period (typically 30 days) and payment terms
- Signature line for customer acceptance

Most floor fitters quote labour per m² and itemise materials separately — it's easier to defend if the customer asks why. For very small jobs (under 10 m²) a minimum call-out price is common.
30 days is standard. Material prices for engineered wood and LVT fluctuate often, so longer than 30 days exposes you to losses if costs rise. State the validity clearly on the quote.
